Biblical FAITH and the power of God Notes

A study by Danny Bunn, B.A (a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.)

I was invited to a brother's program to talk about the importance of biblical faith since we all live by faith, Jesus Christ is calling us to walk in the faith that God imparts to us by his word and that is what set us free and empowers us to live for him. The brother I am talking about is Rudy Davis and his channel is Lonestar1776 and the video this is cut from is "Gideon's Army meets on April 8th, 2017 to #FreeSchaefferCox" Mine is 30 minutes and the original is an hour. Check his channel out. Thanks!

         I could talk on faith for hours but I will try to hit a few high points with you in 10 minutes hopefully to show you where I am coming from. NOT until I started walking in faith did I experience the power of God in ways I never imagined. Faith moves the hand of God on our behalf. Jesus said it over and over and over to people who came to him for healing, according to your faith be it unto you, as you have believed, your faith hath healed you, etc. God put ever so much emphasis on faith and much of the body of Christ puts very little on it. IT IS TOP PRIORITY WITH GOD. But without faith you cannot please God. God's word says it can't be done in …
Heb 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

For times sake just a few verses in the gospels and there are plenty of them.

Matt 9:22
…Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.

Matt 15:28
O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.

Mark 5:34
Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

         BEFORE I KEEP GOING I need to say I am talking about biblical faith or faith that glorifies God NOT the kind greedy people come up with to feed their flesh, to get a three story house with a five car garage. I am talking about the kind of faith that the word talks about that produces healing, needs being met, power to preach the gospel, etc. THINGS that builds God's kingdom NOT your kingdom, so to speak.
         I WANT TO GIVE YOU AN ILLUSTRATION OF THE word going forth by the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ.

         I preached on John 11 "Lazarus Come Forth" on my Youtube channel Jesus talked to Lazarus's sisters before he got to the tomb of Lazarus and he was putting faith by the word in them to believe SO he, the Word made flesh could do his miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. God works with man continually to do his work down here so when he people are not doing much NEITHER IS he, so to speak. I hope you can follow me?
         Jesus could have easily told the stone to get out of the way and it would have obeyed him BUT he didn't BUT let's see what he said in…

John 11
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

EVEN IN THE OT
Ezek. 22:30
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
         God is looking for his people that will stand in the gap…
         Speaking of his people,
         I DON'T WANT TO GET POLITICAL ON YOU BUT Trump is not our solution whether you are for him or against him, that is neither here nor there with me, only the Lord God Jesus Christ can help us out of the messes that we get into.

A lot of people know II Chron. 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Matt 7:7,8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
         Based these verses on other verses in the word of God, I see that I don't always get what I ask for the first time or the second BUT even a bad person will give if to me if I persist, so to speak.
         SO I am saying keep knocking, keep asking, keep seeking.
         LOOKING at the other side for a minute, what unbelief does for you. The disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast out devils. Jesus said,"Because of your unbelief…" But we also see that certain kinds of faith comes ONLY with prayer and fasting. The few times that I have cast out devils, it was a different experience to say the least. I am not going to go into those illustrations but I talk about some of them on my preaching videos on YouTube such as "My Testimony". When things are above my faith to believe in, I turn to prayer and fasting. God gets closer to us at those times since we are putting fleshy comforts aside to get closer to his throne of grace.
         Fasting scares a lot of people since it is basically crucifying the flesh. It doesn't feel good SO our flesh doesn't like it. We are in a war down here so we better have our armor on and fighting the fight of faith. The word says that Jesus did not many mighty works in his own hometown because of their unbelief. We are accountable for our faith, God gives every man a measure of faith and we are called to build upon it. "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (Rom 10:17) God has ever so many promises in his word to his children and we are either too busy with video games of TV programs to lay hold on them which we do by faith or we are unbelieving in reference to God keeping his promises. We are in a war zone down here and too many are getting comfortable with the enemy all around us, closing in on us. So we NEED to be standing on his promises which are yea and amen AND he will see us through as we walk in faith, looking to him, the very author and finished of our faith AS we submit to God and resist the devil, AND when we do that we are walking in faith.
         Faith is NOT A ONE TIME thing, it is a lifetime thing in believers because of faith we are called believers. Believe is a verb and faith is a noun, to make it simple. So believers are those who continue to believe or walk in faith, to make is simple.
         I memorized these verses years ago.

1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

         The ONE MEDIATOR was/is the GOD/MAN Jesus Christ, he was fully God and fully man hence FIT to be the one mediator between God and man experiencing both deity and humanity. He became one of us so he could be a faithful high priest forever,

         Speaking of people in prison, Jesus Christ said it this way when you done it to the least of these, you have done it to me. What we are doing for others, we are doing for Jesus. Spiritually speaking we are visiting him, feeding him, helping him, etc.
