Once Saved, Always Saved- Part 3

A study by Danny Bunn, B.A (a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.)

Welcome to the Power Hour
         Jesus said in...
John 10
"10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
So I want to keep pressing on to the higher calling of my Lord.
I am continuing on with "once saved always saved" and I was dealing with some who departed from the faith when I ran out of time on my last program.

Hebrews 3:12
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God."
An evil heart of unbelief and he is speaking to Christians.

Hebrews 12:25
"See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:"
Turning away from the holy one who speaks from heaven.
We are in the Laodicean Church Age, the lukewarm church is the predominate church and the new bible perversions are the major cause of the falling away.

I Timothy 4:1
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"
To depart from the faith shows an apostasy, believers leaving the faith that they came into at the time of their born again experience.

II Timothy 2:12
"If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:"
The bible shows me in Psa.14:1 that we can deny the Lord with our heart (life) and still confess him with our lips. The fool might NOT have said with his mouth that there is no God but with his life he was and is continually saying it to an unbelieving world.

Hebrews 11:6
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
AS I SAID BEFORE: So Christians can argue about losing or not losing your salvation if that is what they want to do but the important thing for every Christian is to be walking in the life of God continually.
I don't want to get spewed out of Jesus' mouth, nor do I want to deny him or love money more than I love him, or be caught NOT fighting the good fight of faith, or living in pleasure against Christ. and so many other things. I am born of his Spirit so I desire to please him. He made me a new creature and he works in me AS I SUBMIT TO HIM and that is some good news.
If a Christian is living for Jesus and not playing with the world why would he worry about others thinking he could lose his salvation or not? It wouldn't make any difference what others thought, you know that you are going to be with him IF you truly love him. His Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of the most high God.
As we saw in Colossians 2:6 that we are to walk in the same way that we received the Lord Jesus Christ and that is in faith.

Phil. 2:13
" For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
James 4:7
" Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
I walked as that fool in Psa 14:1 because I focused on things that the word of God does not want me focusing on. Jesus must be our focus continually if we are to walk in victory.
Now I want to deal with scriptures where it says Jesus will never leave or forsake us.
I have shown that KNOWING God/Jesus IS eternal life. Now I want TO SHOW thhat we CAN leave him but he will NOT LEAVE US
.

Heb 13:5,6
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me
Conversation in the word of God is normally NOT just your talk BUT your walk is tied in with it. I WOULD THINK anybody can see that he is talking about people who are WALKING in the faith NOT the ones who are deliberately walking in sin and depravity.
Like in a marriage we MIGHT NOT KEEP OUR word and cop out on our marriage BUT God/Jesus will NOT cop out in his marriage to us in the spiritual. We can deny, leave him, he WILL LET US BUT he will not leave us. SO if a separation takes place it originated from our side NOT HIS.

II Tim 2:10-13
10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Heb 6
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
DID you really hear what I read??? Don't be quitters in the middle of your faith walk BUT those through faith and patience inherit the promises. Jesus said in Luke 9:62
"42 No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
There is really nothing to look back to, kind of like Lot's wife when they were fleeing Sodom and Gormorrah and she looked back to death and decay, so to speak.

Titus 1:16
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
I told you before that I have walked as a fool and this verse helps to show that truth. I PROFESSED him BUT by my works I DENIED him and woe IS ME IF I did NOT REPENT.

Psa 14:1
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

NOW let's see something with his disciples
Matt 28:16-20
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Here we see that Jesus is talking to his DISCIPLES, those who are following him, obeying him. He TOLD THEM to go into ALL the world and teach about the triune God who set them free. THOSE ARE the people that Jesus is talking to here. He is NOT talking to the ones who deny him, forsake him, HE IS TALKING TO HIS FOLLOWERS.

NOW I want you to see something based on what I just said.
Matt 10:32-39
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
The once saved, always saved doctrine is dangerous in its own way. I am eternally secure in Jesus, so stay in Jesus. Jesus is salvation. I am NOT eternally secure outside of Jesus. THINK ABOUT IT When I am moving, operating outside of Jesus Christ I am NOT secure. No matter how a person looks at it, whether in our flesh, soul or spirit.
I CAN get OUTSIDE of GOD/JESUS in the same way the Jews did AND that is by unbelief and just as the Jews can be grafted back in through belief, I too CAN go out of the faith and if I truly repent, I can come back into the faith. It is a choice, life or death God sets before us, the whole time we are here.
We are eternally secure in Jesus Christ so just stay in Jesus.
In closing: I already talked about
Rom 11 but I want to repeat something.
Rom 11
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Prov 1:7
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Prov 9
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom SO IF we are secure NO MATTER WHAT WE DO there would be NO fear of God, he would be a push over, so to speak.
