Another part of a discussion on a local bulletin board.
This one is regarding Dinosaurs!
Jay, First I will share a little out of the Bible and then I
will give some quotes out of a book written by a scientist. The
Book of Job is the oldest book in the Bible and the animals God
is describing must be dinosaurs. Read the 40th Chapter of Job.
Then read about another huge animal in the 41st Chapter of Job.
The animals described don't fit any animal that we know of today.
There are also stories told regarding man seeing these big
creatures even in recent years. There have been fossils found
with man's footprints in the same fossil with a dinosaurs'. I am
going to be quoting a little out of a book by 'Creation'
scientists. The book is entitled, "Unlocking the Mysteries of
Creation" by Petersen.
"In the spring of 1977 off the coast of New Zealand, a Japanese
fishing crew hauled in a very peculiar "catch" in their nets.
"The gigantic creature was 30 feet long with a husky neck
about 5 feet long" Its bulky body weighed about 4,000 pounds.
"The "monster" had been dead for quite some time. In such
decayed condition it would have spoiled the valuable cargo of
fish had it been kept aboard. So the fishermen photographed it
and studied it as best they could before throwing it overboard
into the ocean. Others reported having seen these creatures alive
in the nearby waters.
"It definitely looks like a reptile or amphibian, rather than
a fish. The animal appears remarkably similar to the dinosaur
known as the plesiosaur. But the plesiosaur, we're told became
extinct millions of years ago.
"This is a baffling mystery to the doctrine of evolution.
But from the Biblical perspective there is no reason why some of
these creatures could not have survived in the depths of the sea
since the great flood."
Jay, you have probably heard about the Loch Ness monster in
Scotland. I would like to quote a little on that also.
"In the Highlands of northern Scotland people have been
reporting a gigantic swimming "beastie" for the last 1,400 years.
Some 3,000 sightings of the creature have been tallied. Pictures
have been taken of it which look remarkably like the plesiosaur.
It's said to be about 20 feet long with a serpent-like neck and
fat body with flippers on the sides.
"Because of the extreme depth of the Loch (lake) Ness, many
people believe that the amphibious "Nessie" may actually be more
than one giant sea serpent residing in some dark submarine
cavern."
Next I would like to share a little on the 'dragon lizards of
Komodo.'
"Imagine taking an afternoon stroll in the woods and
bumping face-to-face into a ten foot long dragon.
"The world's largest living lizard, according to a National
Geographic article of December 1968, the Komodo lizard "remains
somewhat of a mystery."
"There are thousands of these terrifying lizards surviving on
the remote island of Australia.
"They are called living examples of the prehistoric Age of
Reptiles. They were totally unknown to modern man until the year
1912! Could other "dinosaurs" still be living today?
In closing, let's go to Africa.
"Deep in the heart of tropical Africa, the native people tell
of strange encounters with giant dinosaur-like reptiles in modern
times.
"Occasional visitors to an unexplored part of the Congo have
returned with incredible stories over the last two centuries.
They all confirm that the natives are absolutely honest in their
reports of the "mokele-mbembe" (mo-KEL-ly-mm-BEM-be). They say
these animals are huge, with small heads, long necks, and long
massive tails, they wade in slow meandering rivers, and have been
described as "half elephant and half dragon."
