Mormon Beliefs- Part 6- Miscellaneous items in the Book of Mormon. such as skin color, an evil guy trying to breathe with his head cut off, another evil guy fighting more powerfully than ever after getting the top of his head scalped off, and the devil deceiving people to go after unknown "gods"...

Going to 2 Nephi Ch. 5:vs.20-25, "Wherefore, the word of the Lord was fulfilled which he spake unto me, saying that: Inasmuch as they will not hearken unto thy words they shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord. And behold, they were cut off from his presence.
And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceeding fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.
And thus saith the Lord God: I will cause that they shall be loathsome unto my people, save they shall repent of their iniquities.
And cursed shall be the seed of him that mixeth with their seed; for they shall be cursed even with the same cursing. And the Lord spake it and it was done.
And because of their cursing which was upon them they did become an idle people, full of mischief and subtlety, and did seek in the wilderness for beasts of prey.
And the Lord God said unto me: They shall be a scourge unto thy seed, to stir them up in remembrance of me; and inasmuch as they will not remember me, and hearken unto my words, they shall scourge them even unto destruction."

From this we see that because of their sin, God caused a skin of blackness to come upon them. To be dark skinned or black is a curse or the result of a curse to the Mormon Church, to many of them even now but they are trying to get away from a lot of things that they taught in the past and this is one of many. So they start changing their Book of Mormon to line up with their new found beliefs. They're seeking to get away from the prejudice attitude that they've had for so long. And so the Book of Mormon has to change with the changing times. We see this in comparing the 1980 edition of the Book of Mormon with the 1981 'Triple Combination'(that's the book that has all three of their books together- Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants) Anyway checking out 2 Nephi Ch. 30:v. 6 "And then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a white and delightsome people." (Bolded Emphasis mine)

Okay that was the 1980 Book of Mormon, now from the Book of Mormon in the 1981 'Triple Combination' just the last part, "..and many generations shall not pass away save they shall be a pure and delightsome people." (Bolded Emphasis mine)
They are slowly trying to get away from their past stands regarding dark skinned people and their prejudicial views of them but it can easily be proven just by quoting their past apostles, and prophets.

Now I would like to get into some pretty ridiculous things within the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon was supposedly written by chiseling onto gold plates which was a slow and tedious work. So common sense tells me to say what needs to be said in as few words as possible. So let's see if common sense holds true in the Book of Mormon, going to 4 Nephi Ch.1:v.6 which says, "And thus did the thirty and eighth year pass away, and also the thirty and ninth, and the forty and first, and the forty and second, yea even until forty and nine years had passed away, and also the fifty and first, and the fifty and second; yea, and even until fifty and nine years had passed away."
They took 57 words to say, '59 years passed by'. Remember he was chiseling this into gold plates.

Also in Ether Ch. 15:vs. 30,31 "And it came to pass that when Coriantumr had leaned upon his sword, that he rested a little, he smote off the head of Shiz.
And it came to pass that after he had smitten off the head of Shiz, that Shiz raised upon his hands and fell; and after that he had struggled for breath, he died."
Imagine trying to catch your breath without a head. Just try to imagine it.

Now going to Alma Ch. 44:vs. 13-16, "And it came to pass that the soldier who stood by, who smote off the scalp of Zerahemnah, took of the scalp from off the ground by the hair, and laid it upon the point of his sword, and stretched it forth unto them, saying unto them with a loud voice:
Even as this scalp has fallen unto the earth, which is the scalp of your chief, so shall ye fall to the earth except ye will deliver up your weapons of war and depart with a covenant of peace.
Now there were many, when they heard these words and saw the scalp which was upon the sword, that were struck with fear; and many came forth and threw down their weapons of war at the feet of Moroni, and entered into a covenant of peace. And as many as entered into a covenant they suffered to depart unto the wilderness.
Now it came to pass that Zerahemnah was exceeding wroth, and he did stir up the remainder of his soldiers to anger, to contend more powerfully against the Nephites."
Think about this one, this evil guy gets the top of his head cut off and he fights more powerfully than before. Unbelievable and I mean unbelievable.

Okay this the last one for now and I really want you to think about this one. It's Alma Ch. 30: v. 53, "But behold the devil hath deceived me; for he hath appeared unto me in the form of an angel, and said unto me: Go and reclaim this people, for they have all gone astray after an unknown God. And he said unto me: There is no God; yea, and he taught me that which I should say. And I have taught his words; and I taught them because they were pleasing to the carnal mind; and I taught them, even unto I had much success, insomuch that I verily believed, that they were true; for this cause I withstood the truth, even until I have brought this great curse upon me."

Really think about what I just quoted, the devil deceived him to go after an unknown God and remember God makes it plain in His written word, the Bible that there is only one God. Satan has a lot of things to say that are pleasing to the carnal mind like you can have all the women that you want or you can be a God etc. And also by reading this verse I see that he has been saying it for such a long time that he convinced himself that it was true because of the success that went along with it. There are probably many Mormons in that same position knowing that Mormonism is false but they know if they admit it that could lose their job, wife, family or whatever else. But it worth it to lose it all to experience His life and He'll meet your every need just as He promised.

So come to the true God of the bible, he'll give you true riches-his peace, love, joy, strength. He'll satisfy that God shaped vacuum that every man and woman has and it can't be satisfied any other way whether through sex, money, popularity or whatever else, only he satisfies. He is a prayer away from all of us.
