SISERA GOT THE 'POINT' and a fatal wound to his 'head' at the
hand of Jael - after he had oppressed God's people for twenty
years (Judges 4:3). Likewise, the NIV (1973) preyed on the
church for twenty years until Gail's New Age Bible Versions
(1993) struck a blow at the "heady, high-minded" enemy of God's
word- textual criticism.
Discerning Christians worldwide received the book
enthusiastically. Letters poured in from grateful readers like
author Leonard Ravenhill (Jan. 1994) who wrote: "Thanks for your
tedious labor of love in producing this monumental book on the
New Age versions. We gave the book to folks in strategic
positions and will mail out the flyers to intelligent believers.
I call the KJV the real NIV - Never Improved Version."
Bill Gothard wrote, "Just a note to encourage you in the
battle, I know you are under attack and I am praying that you
will look above the reactions and realize that you are sounding
an important alarm." Scholars like Geradus Bouw, editor of The
Biblical Astronomer, said, "a monumental piece of research work!
I've sent copies to over a dozen skeptics and none of them have
come up with any substantial arguments against Riplinger's work."
New Age experts like Mary Pride, author of Ancient Empires
of the New Age, wrote, "We were diehard NIV users for years, but
this book convinced us otherwise." Noah Hutchings of Southwest
Radio Church said, "Thank you, Gail, for your courage in
defending these eternal truths."
The entire Canadian Council of Evangelical Protestant
Churches unanimously passed a resolution at their Sept. 1994
meeting stating: "Whereas, the falsity of these polluted versions
has been exposed in a 700 page book entitled, 'New Age Bible
Versions' in which thousands of references are given completely
exposing the falsity of the new perversions and fully supporting
the King James Bible, 1611. We, therefore, resolve that The
Canadian Council of Evangelical Protestant Churches will continue
to stand for the King James 1611 Bible and oppose and expose all
promotion of these erroneous perversions of God's Word and
strongly recommend the purchase of the book, New Age Bible
Versions..."
Well-respected Christian monthlies gave glowing reviews.
The Sword of the Lord review by Hugh Pyle said, "Brilliantly
written, it reveals a genius of research into the most popular
versions of the Bible...a fascinating study, very well
documented...it is hard to put it down." James Lloyd, editor of
Christian Media, wrote that the book was "a devastating appraisal
of the behind the scenes manipulation of the Word of God by
apostate individuals. Although the book has generated an
enormous amount of interest...industry forces continue to
blacklist and attack the book at every opportunity...The
publishing and distribution of modern translations of the Bible
is a sacred cash cow that the major commercial media entities
want to protect at all costs. In short, certain powerful
Christian media interests have chosen to serve Mammon instead of
Christ."
This volume is a response to the errors of those "powerful
Christian" "scribes which love...the marketplaces" (Mark 12:38).
The volume that is mentioned in the sentence above is "King James Version ditches Blind Guides". It is Gail Riplinger "correcting" those who lied about her and her first book, "New Age Bible Versions" which most "Christian" bookstores don't carry becasue it will hurt their "bible" sales. But remember 1 Tim 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." There isn't much that man won't do for money...
