Chapter 28
Truly living even in hunger
Joe wakes up around 9:00am, it felt good to sleep in. He
made it through all 7 days of the fast and the Lord has shown him
some pretty awesome things. Such as how he can do something that
he has never attempted to do or even desired to do and that was
to go without food, not just for one meal or even one day but a
whole week and the Lord gave him one deliverance after another to
overcome the temptation. A verse came to Joe's mind, "There hath
no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is
faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,
that ye may be able to bear it." "Ah yes, 1 Corinthians 10:13,
that's a good one" was going on in his head.
He gets up and Cindy is gone, she left a note on the table telling
Joe that she got a call from Judy and Judy wanted to see her desparately
so she gets dressed and drives over there. Joe is thinking about
his past relationship with Cindy before he married her and all
the things that went on in his mind so he can imagine how Judy
feels right now. Joe goes on into the kitchen and he breaks his
fast with a tall glass of orange juice, thanking the Father God
for his mercy and his love. He lifts up the situation that Cindy
has gone into for the day. He prays a special prayer for Judy
that she would stop going the way of the world and turn to a God
who loves her more than she could ever imagine. Joe also lifts
up Harry, Judy's ex-live in or boyfriend or whatever you want to
call him. So many strange things go on down here on planet
earth, a land full of rebellion against the one true God. People
who are satisfied or maybe partially satisified living in misery,
rebellion, hatred, greed, lust, fear, on and on the list can go,
and they turn to just about anything or everything but God. The
one thing that they need to have life, real life and yet they
associate him with religion and all the drugs, the sex, the
meditation, the garbage that they get into is the real religious
stuff. Religion by the world's definition is the worship of God
or gods so everyone is religious by that definition and all who
have a god of their own making are super religious and all do
have some sort of god but the God of the bible came to give us
the highest form of life possible.
Cindy comes in about 4:30pm and she shares some of her day
at Judy's with Joe. She tells him that a lot is going on in her
life and she needs prayer big time at this point and time in her
life. Cindy then tells him that she will fix him something good
to break the fast. Joe says, "Yummm!" A couple minutes later,
Joe yells at Cindy in the bathroom, "I will be back within the
hour!" and he takes off before she asks him where is he going.
