DEATH

ACT 1- FINAL SCENE

Driving by--- sign says, "LAKESIDE WOMEN'S CLINIC"

Gary: Here it is! (as he is reading it, car screeches to a stop)
Amy: Gary, I'm nervous!
Gary: Don't be honey! It'll be a snap. You'll be in one minute and out the next.
Amy: But I heard that it was life from the moment of conception.
Gary: Don't believe everything that you hear.
AMY: Yea, I guess you are right but...... there is something in me?

(((((((CONSCIENCE)))))))
"For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother's womb
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
marvelous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well."

Amy: Gary, I just don't think... that I should.
Gary: Come on!

CLOCK TICKING-- TICK-TOCK TICK-TOCK TICK-TOCK TICK-TOCK
(HEAR DOOR OPENING)

Gary: Honey, see how easy, how quick.

(MAIN DOOR OPENS AND SLAMS SHUT)

ACT 2- FINAL SCENE

(ALARM GOES OFF)

Tom: (Yawns) Today is Valentine's Day. This is the day that I have been waiting for. Suzy and I are to be married today! I can hardly believe it. It just doesn't seem real.

(BED CREEKS AS HE JUMPS UP- WALKS ACROSS FLOOR- SHOWER STARTS)

(Tom STARTS SINGING IN THE SHOWER)

Tom: Suzy and I sitting in a tree
K-i-s-s-i-n-g
First comes love
Then comes marrriage
Then comes.....
(Phone is ringing)
(Shower stops)
(Answers phone)

Tom: Tom's residence. May I help you?

(((Voice talking on the other end)))

Tom: {frantic, extremely upset, hollering}- No, no, it can't be. Tell me that you are lying.

Other voice: Tom, get a hold of yourself, listen to me. She was super excited when she came by this morning about 6:00 am. Before she left she said that she was going to Carol's to celebrate. Carol calls me from the hospital saying that the wreck happened before Suzy was 2 blocks away. At the first intersection, Suzy didn't even slow down, a guy comes from the other street. Both cars were totalled. TOM, TOM, you there!!

(((((((CONSCIENCE))))))) 'Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

ACT 3- FINAL SCENE

Carl: Alice, hurry up- our favorite soap opera is coming on.
Alice: I'm coming, darling.
(Talking as soap is starting.)
Carl: That was a fun party last night, wasn't it?
Alice: Yes, it was. We got smashed.
Carl: For sure, for sure! Did you see that chick that I picked up?
Alice: Yea, but you don't think that she was as nice as me?
Carl: No baby. She was alright for a one night stand but you are my woman for ever or until I get tired of you.
Alice: Same here, Sugar! Sshhh!
(The soap is going)
Carl: I am getting tired of this, this guy has had about every woman on this program and I have only had 3 wives and 15 other women.
Alice: Well that isn't anything. I have only had 8 guys and only married 2 other times.
Carl: This isn't fair, he is not better looking than I am. I make good money. I am a pretty nice guy especially when I am trying to get something that I want or someone. Isn't that right, Baby? Why? Baby Why?
Oh! my heart!
(His body makes a loud thump as he falls to the floor.)
Alice: Carl, Carl- what's wrong?

(((((((CONSCIENCE)))))))
"And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?"

ACT 4- FINAL SCENE

Roger: Honey, she knew she didn't have much longer.
SANDY: Yea, I know but it doesn't make it any easier.
Roger: You're right!
SANDY: She kept talking about Jesus and how he saved her from sin. How he promised that she would be with him. She continually talked about the wonders of heaven and this God that she loved. How he actually became a man and died for the world's sins and all those who receive him become new creatures.
Roger: There was something really different about her.
SANDY: It was this love that she had. It just seemed to spill out.
Roger: I remember her telling us about death and how she was ready to go.

(((((((CONSCIENCE))))))) "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Final Speaker:
"Death could be just around the corner for you or me, we never know when it is going to occur. "

Death

        Death is something that the smartest minds can't figure out, can't get around, can't do anything about. God says all will die because the wages of sin is death. Because mankind is born in sin, death is the ultimate destiny, the final chapter for life on earth. We are going to die unless Jesus comes again. Death, like the old saying goes- "You can be born once and die twice or born twice and die once." There has to be a physical birth and then a spiritual birth. You must be born-again is what Jesus said. The born-again experience is receiving Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour. He'll come in and make you a new creature. Then you will have only one death to come in contact with, that being the physical death. When we receive him into our lives, he does away with the second death for us and that is an eternity in hell. When a Christian dies, his spirit goes to be with Jesus in heaven, and when a person dies without Jesus, his spirit goes to hell, the second death. We will live for all eternity in heaven or hell, but it's our choice.

         Death- think about it long and hard, you will deal with it one day...-- We dealt with four different skits regarding death. The first was to do with a baby in the womb. Before the baby got to experience life on earth was killed, destroyed by man, woman cause of our greedy, selfish desires, our sinful nature. Pleasure is our God and we will do anything for it. So we kill and since it is legal, we kill more. Legal doesn't make it right and deep down we know it and we will pay. The second skit showed death involving a young couple. They were to be married that day. She was out celebrating with her friends and she ends up dying in a car wreck the very day that she was to be married. We never know what time it is going to happen. We do not know what tomorrow holds. Death could be just around the corner for each of us. Then we come to the third skit and we have a middle aged couple here. They are sitting around watching their favorite soap opera. All kinds of immorality, garbage goes in those shows and they were sitting there feeding their minds, 'Garbage in, garbage out'. So many people get so intense in those movies, like it is really a part of their life, like it is real. The fellow gets into it so much that he ends up having a heart attack. Finally, the last skit that we come to is a Christian, she knew her time was coming and she was ready to go cause she knew Jesus. God wants all of us to know him. He came in human flesh to save us. He died and was buried and rose the third day and all who receive him through his finished work, he gives eternal life. God will have all saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth. The Bible says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12) He wants you to repent, be willing to turn from your sinful lifestyle to Jesus. Let him come into your life and he will give you everything that you need to live for him. Jesus is everything that you could ever want and more.
